Program Overview
Did You Know? That children from low-income households are up to 3 years behind children from high-income households?
TLG’s Rural Program provides free one-on-one tutoring and mentorship to primary students experiencing educational disadvantage in rural and remote Australian communities. During a one-week intensive, students participate in individually tailored tutoring while our passionate and high-achieving volunteers from metro areas encourage and promote enthusiasm about learning.
Teachers select the Australian Curriculum educational outcome that the student is struggling with and our TLG volunteers work with them throughout the week to help them achieve understanding. Volunteers work with their students for two hours each day for a week, leading to at least 10 hours of one-on-one tutoring for the program.
